Informal Settlements, Basic Services
& Public Spaces
I am dedicated to uplifting the lives of the most vulnerable and to fostering civic spaces that create just cities. I am especially experienced in fostering equitable housing policies, co-creating dignified living conditions in informal settlements, improving access to basic services, and developing productive context-sensitive public spaces that can reshape a city’s image.
Climate Action, Urban Resilience
& Biodiversity
I am dedicated to reducing carbon footprints, adapting to climate risks, and to conserving flora and fauna in urban settings. This is especially true for regions in the Global South that have contributed the least to Climate Change but are affected most harshly. By fostering urban resilience in the physical, political, economic, and social sense I support cities to cope with the new normal. This may entail nature-based solutions, strengthened local economies, green infrastructure, nature conservation, or inclusive policies and much more.
Local, Regional, National Governments,
Public Finance Management &
Climate Finance
I am dedicated to enabling governments, especially on local level, to do their jobs. Too often financial and human resources are scarce and threaten strategic visions with adhoc responses and individual interests. Ethical and visionary leadership, self-determined financing and planning, effective urban governance and management, and an active civil society are both its antidotes and essential ingredients for great citymaking and liveable cities for all.
Placemaking, Public Art & Activism
I am dedicated to seeking creative and innovative solutions to seemingly merely technocratic questions. To do so, I experiment with what cannot necessarily be measured but very much felt in our everyday life. Through low-cost, local, and communal activities and interventions, urban issues are addressed and temporary fixes can become permanent ones. Some may call it design build, others call it less talking, more doing. In the end, experimentation can provide a lot of insight and direction when uncertainty is omnipresent.
Development, Planning & Research
I am dedicated to creating cities and human settlements that are inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable for all. To do so, I provide urban advisory, policy, planning, programming, design, and research support to cities worldwide that align with all 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Cities for Women, Men, Youth, Children, Elderly, and People Living with Disabilities
The world around us is mainly built by men. Urbanists therefore have a responsibility to question this and to introduce more diverse perspectives to planning in order to make truly inclusive cities. Only this way can women with infants, men in wheelchairs, young broke students, children playing in the streets, incontinent elderly, queer folks, Muslim, Jewish, Christian believers, black, brown, and white people be truly seen and find a sense of belonging in their city – just to name a few examples. We have created this world so we can create alternative versions because another world is always possible.
